In the 90s, two friends travelled to Europe for a backpacking trip in some countries.
One of the ideas that came up during the planning stages - that nowadays sounds completely not environmentally friendly - was to drop a bottle in the water with a message in it.
Like in books or movies, a glass bottle closed with a cork, would be thrown in the sea.
And hopefully some day, some one, would find it, open it and contact back.
The message in the bottle contained an email account for future communication.
But at that time, who would think the email provider wouldn't exist anymore?
